The Nanny is being turned into a Broadway musical – and sorry, are tickets on sale yet?
The sitcom aired for six seasons in the early ’90s and starred Fran Drescher, who also created the show, as Fran Fine – a Queen native who happens to show up at the door of a Manhattan family who is looking for, you guessed it, a nanny.
The New York Times reports that The Nanny is now bound for Broadway, with the folks behind the musical comedy Crazy Ex Girlfriend working on the score from the production.
Rachel Bloom, who starred in and created music for the CW show, will be writing the music and lyrics with Adam Schlesinger, the show’s EP.
Drescher will be writing the book for the show with Peter Marc Jacobson, who was The Nanny’s co-creator alongside Drescher.

The publication notes that while the casting has not been decided yet, the actress will not be reprising her role.
Drescher took to Instagram this week to celebrate the news of The Nanny heading to Broadway, as she shared a cast photo from the TV show.
Lat year, she teased to CNN that there was a “Nanny-related project” on the way.
“Peter (Marc Jacobson) and I are doing a ‘Nanny’-related project that’s very big, that I think the fans will be thrilled with,” she said at the time.
