The Green Mile and The Hunger Games – The Best Films On TV This Week

There are so many films on TV on a weekly basis, we thought we would draw your attention to some of the better movies that you can check out from the comfort of your own home. Here are seven of the best films that are on TV this week.

1. Julie and Julia, Monday, RTÉ One, 9.35pm.

Julia Powell attempts to cook all of the recipes in the wonderful Julia Child’s book about the start of her cooking profession. This is just very easy Monday night viewing.

2. Watchmen, Tuesday, Film4, 11.05pm.

Certainly one of Snyder’s most criticized films but definitely a faithful adaptation, Watchmen tells the story of some very realistic superheroes.

3. Water for Elephants, Wednesday, RTÉ One, 9.35pm

Based on the very popular book of the same name, Water for Elephants revolves around a vet who literally ran away with the circus and falls in love with its star performer.

4. No Limbs, No Limits, Thursday, RTÉ One,  10.15pm.

A wonderful, heartwarming documentary about the life of Joanne O’Riordan who was born with no limbs.

5. The Green Mile, Friday, TV3, 9pm.

If this doesn’t break your heart, we are convinced that you must have no soul. The Green Mile tells the story of Death Row guards who are affected by one of the men in their charge, a man with a very special gift.

6. The Hunger Games, Saturday, Channel 4, 9pm.

The first in the Hunger Games series, this film introduces us to Katniss and her beginnings in the tournaments.

7. A Clockwork Organge, Sunday, Sky Movies Select, 10pm.

A Kubrick classic, A Clockwork Orange centres around Alex DeLarge, the leader of a gang who volunteers for experimental treatment in order to clamp down on crime.
