Skeet Ulrich has revealed the “honest” reason why he is leaving Riverdale.
The actor has played F.P. Jones on the CW drama since season one. However, back in February, it was announced that he and Marisol Nichols – who plays Hermione Lodge – would be leaving the series.
Ulrich recently joined his girlfriend Meghan Blake Irwin for an Instagram Live, where they were answering questions sent in by fans.
Among them, naturally, was a fan who wanted to know why he was leaving Riverdale – and he was happy to respond.
“I’m leaving Riverdale because I got bored creatively. That’s the most honest answer,” he said.

Since the fourth season of Riverdale was cut short due to the Coronavirus pandemic, it is likely that we haven’t seen the last of F.P. Jones just yet.
Showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa told TVLine that they were planning a time jump for when the series returns – although, they’ll also be picking up storylines from the three episodes that they weren’t able to shoot for season four.
These included their high school prom and graduation. And rather than skipping past those milestones, they are currently looking at having the time-jump take place a few episodes into the series.
“It felt like maybe what we’ll do is start with the last three episodes [of season four]. So what we’re doing is picking up right where we left off for the first three episodes, and then doing a time jump… after those three episodes,” he continued.
