They’re coming back!
Tamagotchis took up a lot of our childhood, so much so a lot of them were confiscated off us in school. We hid them in our pockets and slyly played with them at our desks, but of course the teachers caught us and stowed them away at their tables.
During that time, they pooped, they died and they had to be reborn again.
Great fun.
Well, now you can relive your childhood as Tamagotchis are coming back.
The digital pet that you can keep in your pocket is going on sale on the tech site, JB Hi-Fi. It being sold for $34 (which is around €21).
The ones currently on pre-sale are the original models so we’ll know how to use them (no bells and whistles on these babies), and come in eight different colours.
Announcing them on Instagram, JB Hi-Fi said: “Can you tell we’re feeling particularly nostalgic this week? Revisit the ’90s with the 2018 release of the Original Tamagotchi, the original virtual reality pet.”
Will we be purchasing one? Yes.
Will they be confiscated on us again? Probably (sorry, boss).
