Take Me Out is coming to an end after 11 years

Take Me Out is coming to an end after 11 years.

The ITV show, hosted by Paddy McGuinness, saw a singleton arrive in the ‘Love Lift’ – and then have to convince 30 girls to keep their light on for him.

There were a few different rounds that took place. And during each one, if the guy impressed the girls they would leave their light on – if he didn’t, they’d turn it off.

It was pretty straight forward – like Paddy always said, ‘no likey, no lighty’.

A spokesperson for ITV confirmed to The Sun that they had “decided to say goodbye to Take Me Out.”

“ITV and Paddy have done all the specials you can eke out of a dating show, so it’s been decided it’s time for it to go,” a TV source added. “As with many shows, ratings have slid a bit in recent years. But it will go down as a big success — it’s had more weddings than Blind Date.”

A production source added that while they were “really sad” to see the end of the series, their work was “done” after after 11 years, eight weddings and six babies.

“We’d like to thank Paddy, the production team at Thames as well as all the contributors for their hard work in making the show such unmissable television,” a production source continued. “We’re really sad to see the end but after 11 years, eight weddings and six babies, our work is done. We have lots of exciting projects with the channel lined up.”
