Good movies and Christmas cheer go hand in hand.
However, goodwill often goes out the window when it comes to picking the movie.
However, maybe the results of this survey will help some settle some arguments and hair pulling – because that’s just not the holiday spirit.
The research, conducted by One4All, saw 1,100 Irish adults interviewed about what makes them happy at Christmas.
A whopping 83 per cent of people said that they found Christmas to be the happiest time of the year, with 40 per cent voting Christmas Eve as their peak happiness day.
When it comes to movie choices, people were actually pretty divided and there was no major front runner.
Nineteen per cent said Home Alone makes them feel most Christmassy, followed very closely by Miracle on 34th Street (17 per cent).
In third place was the Christmas Classic It’s a Wonderful Life with 10 per cent of the vote.
When it comes to songs, 35 per cent of people voted for The Pogues and Kirsty MacColl’s Fairytale of New York followed by Wizzard’s I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday with 14 per cent.
Mariah Carey’s All I Want For Christmas Is You came in third with 13 per cent of the vote – you can’t beat a bit of cheese.
