With a week of tense drama ahead, Eastenders bosses kicked off the soap’s week-long anniversary celebrations with a serious cliff-hanger – pointing the finger at a Branning as Lucy Beale’s murderer.
In the first episode planning to unravel Lucy’s killer, Max Branning was seen confronting his younger daughter Abi at home – accusing her of killing Lucy after a tense row with elder daughter Lauren.
The soap continues the 10 month murder saga this evening, with Lauren shown struggling to cope with the weight of the murderer’s secret identity hanging over her.
Knowing the truth, Lauren wrote a wedding card to Jane Beale with a note set to cause a stir:
“I know what happened to Lucy. She was killed at home.”
Growing increasingly concerned that Lauren will reveal the killer, Max cornered her before she breaks away after their talk is interrupted by Abi.
In an explosive ending to tonight’s episode, Max is seen telling his daughter Abi:
“She knows. That you killed Lucy.”
With the drama set to continue until the big reveal on Thursday, bookies still believe a Beale is responsible for Lucy’s death.
The countdown is on…
