Producer Kieran Roberts told This Morning: “The programme will of course carry on and will have to – and we’ll do it for Annie because that’s what we think she’d want us to do.”

He added: “Today is a day to think and reflect. We did try to film this morning but within half an hour it was apparent that it wasn’t going to happen and I think that’s the right thing.

“We’ve stood everybody down today, which very rarely happens, to give people time to think about Annie, to remember her and to pay tribute.”
