As well as a bit of romance, Thursday night’s EastEnders delivered a shocking blow to viewers as Alfie Moon was diagnosed with a brain tumour.
Albert Square’s resident comedian was told that a suspicious mass had been noticed on his brain and that further tests would have to be carried out to determine whether it’s benign or malignant.

Following the devastating news, Alfie (Shane Richie) went into denial and pretended that everything was fine so as not to wreck things with wife Kat (Jessie Wallace).
Speaking previously about the storyline, Shane said: “It’s just the biggest curveball I think Alfie has ever been thrown in his 13 years that I’ve been there.”
