Sherif was missing from the Love Island reunion show last night – here’s why

Hashtag never forget.

Way back at the beginning of June, a guy named Sherif entered the villa.

And then, a few days later, Sherif was removed from the villa after accidentally kicking Molly-Mae in the crotch and calling it a “c*nt punt.”

It was a whole thing.

And although last night’s reunion show brought a whole load of drama, there was one thing it didn’t bring – Sherif.

No, not because he didn’t want to come. Not because he’s not mates with anybody else from the show. It was because ITV didn’t ask him to attend.

Shame.

When Sherif was removed from the villa back in June, his contract with ITV was terminated which meant that he wouldn’t be obliged to do any interviews after the series ended.

But unfortunately for him, it also meant that he wouldn’t be invited to the reunion show.

“Sherif is gutted. He was really looking forward to having the chance to reunite with the other Islanders who became his friends during the villa,” a source told The Sun.

“It’s hard to fathom why they wouldn’t want him as he was so popular during his short stint on the show. He made a mistake and apologised, so why he is still be punished is hard to fathom.”

A spokesperson for Sherif confirmed this, saying: “It would have been nice for Sherif to see his friends at the reunion; it’s a shame ITV feel this strongly against him attending.”

Following his removal from the villa, Sherif said that he believed he had been a victim of “unconscious racism.”

The former contestant argued that although he had behaved poorly, if someone else had acted a similar way, they would not have been told to leave the show.

The Love Island reunion showed aired last night on Virgin Media Two.
