RTÉ viewers are raving about The Boy That Never Was
Everyone is talking about the new RTÉ drama The Boy That Never Was.
The new series aired on Sunday night and has already got the nation hooked.
The Boy That Never Was is about a couple who lost their son in an earthquake in Morocco. Their world is turned upside down when five years later in Dublin, they spot a young boy who looks just like him.
Viewers have been raving about the series, which is based on the Karen Perry book, with many saying it’s one of the best shows RTÉ has aired in some time.
One wrote: “Despite its heavy subject matter, it’s kind of refreshing to see a new RTE drama that isn’t just a straightforward crime caper.”
“The first episode of The Boy That Never Was was totally gripping. Will have to restrain myself from looking up the ending. Sunday night telly perfection,” another said.
“It’s shaping up to be quite good,” another said.
The series is based on the best-selling novel of the same name, but it’s well worth reading before you tune into the series.
