Saoirse Ronan was the big winner on the Oscars red carpet last night

She did us proud.

While she may not have taken home the top prize in her category, Saoirse was a winner in our eyes last night, not only because she was one of the hot favourites to take home the award for Best Actress (her third nomination in her career, don't you know) but also because she was serving some serious looks on the red carpet. Yes, Saoirse is never one to play it safe when it comes to her style, and while last night's look was a lot more simplistic than we may be used to, the actress still injected her usual amount of individuality to the look. The actress walked the red carpet in a pink Calvin Klein By Appointment dress that featured a large bow and train at the back. Just skimming the 23-year-old’s ankles, the gown left just enough visibility to show off the gorgeous court shoes in a matching pink shade. Saoirse also made sure to get in for a fresh trim before the awards ceremony as she donned a new blunt bob that was slicked down at the sides to keep everything very simplistic yet ultra-modern. And while the look was incredibly minimal, it packed a punch on the red carpet and was one of our favourite looks on the night – although, we might be a smidge biased. Other stand-out moments on the red carpet last night included Alison Janney, Margot Robbie and Jane Fonda giving everyone a run for their money at 80 years old.
