The reason young Daya looked identical to Dascha Polanco in OITNB

For those of you still recovering from the shock ending to season five of Orange Is The New Black, you might have a list of questions you want answered. One of the major questions we have however, (don’t worry, no spoilers) is how did they manage to make young Daya look so like present-day Daya? Yes, this season we enjoyed flashbacks to Daya’s teenage years and we couldn’t get over how similar the actress who was recrutied to play the younger version of the character looked to Dascha Polanco, the one who plays the Daya we know and love. Was CGI at work? Did they spend months and months scowering the country looking for a look-a-like? Did Dascha get use some seriously amazing anti-ageing cream? No, the reason the actress looked so like Polanco is because she is her daughter.

Dasany Kristal Gonzalez is the 15-year-old daughter of one of the show’s big stars Polanco and made her first appearance on the Netflix hit show this season. Yep, it's a mind=blown type moment.
