Ageing like a cake covered in fine wine.
Age, it’s just a number (or so we’re told) but when the number that’s associated with someone is slightly different to what you imagined that number to be, it always gets a significant reaction.
Some people look younger than their age. Some people look older than their age. But let’s face it, you’re never going to tell someone you thought they were older.
Recently on the Great British Bake Off, Prue Leith revealed her real age and viewers were left shocked. They couldn’t believe that she is, in fact, 80 years old.
Just found out @PrueLeith is 80! ? In that case, pass me the genoise sponge! #GBBO

And considering she’s a businesswoman, a journalist, a cookery writer and a published author, it makes more sense that she’s had a few extra years to achieve this.
We have no idea what Prue’s secret is. Maybe it’s simply a lifetime of amazing food.
The 80 year old was born in Cape Town in 1940, and moved to London in 1960 to attend the prestigious Cordon Bleu Cookery School.
She worked in the food industry for years and then became a food columnist. Not only that but she’s also written 12 cookery books and seven novels.
Prue is yet to reveal her secret behind looking so well but we’re sure delicious cakes and treats just have something to do with it – so we shall continue munching our way through those until she tells us otherwise.
