The Princess Switch: the sequel is happening – and it looks like it could be on Netflix soon enough

Because who among us doesn’t need more Van Hudg in their lives?

A sequel to The Princess Switch has finally been confirmed to be in the making, and you’d be lying if you said you weren’t at least a little excited, tbh.

The new movie, expected to be released some time next year, will star and be produced by Vanessa Hudgens.

It was officially confirmed by Netflix on Twitter this week, and although we won’t have the film ahead of this Christmas, we may very well have it for the new year.

Maybe.

“Vanessa Hudgens returns as star & producer for The Princess Switch: Switched Again,” said Netflix’s See What’s Next Twitter account.

“In the sequel, Duchess Margaret unexpectedly inherits the throne & hits a rough patch with Kevin so it’s up to Stacy to save the day before a new lookalike — party girl Fiona — foils their plans.”

Sounds intriguing.

The original film followed the hijinks-fuelled story of Stacy, a woman who travels to ‘Belgravia’ only to discover that she looks the exact same as princess Margaret Delacour.

The pair, naturally, decide to swap places, have a lovely time of it, and even fall in love. Not with each other, no, just with some lads.

The sequel will of course introduce a new woman who looks exactly like Stacy and Margaret too, so there’ll be three Vanessa Hudgens roaming about the place causing ruckus.

You love to see it.

The Princess Switch: Switched Again will be released on Netflix in 2020.
