It was to mark the film's anniversary.

With the new Ghostbusters movie coming soon, it would be only right to mark the anniversary of its origin.

The 1984 classic movie was released on June 8th so to honour that special date the cast of the new movie got together with the old gang last night.

Included in the reunion were newbies Melissa McCarthey, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones, along with the old crew Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson and Annie Potts.

Good old Jimmy Kimmel got all of them together for his show and we could not be happier.

The all-female Ghostbusters team raised a few eyebrows when it was first announced but if the trailers are anything to go by people will be regretting that they ever doubted the idea.

According to Hollywood Life, when speaking about the new remake of the movie, Bill Murray said:

“It was only cause I knew these girls were funny. When you see the film, and you’ll delight in this film. It sort of rumbles along in the beginning and you’re going ‘Oh God, are they going to pull this thing off?’ There is no quit in these girls. This is a tough movie to pull off cause it’s a big concept, there’s a lot on the plate, there’s a lot of expectation and Danny, Annie, Earnie and I were just screaming, cheering like it was a sporting event.”

The movie is out on July, 11th 2016.
