The troubled writer who Carrie worshiped dumped her with the post-it that we all came to read and weep:

So when Cosmopolitan ran into Ron Livingston, who happened to play the actor for the final season short-term fling, they asked him to do what we never got a chance to see – break-up with Carrie in person.
Well, kind of.
They made him hold the note.
