Peter Barlow dropped a serious bombshell in Corrie last night and sorry there’s no way, like

It's been a fairly shocking few months for the good people of Coronation Street recently.

They've seen Pat Phelan die. Jim McDonald kissed his daughter. A Costa Coffee arrived to the cobbles. It was all going on. And last night something else happened - something so shocking, so harrowing, so utterly unbelievable that you'd be forgiven for thinking that it wasn't true at all. Peter Barlow said that he was 53-years-old. We know. What. This bombshell occurred during last night's episode when Peter was having a chat with his dad Ken about his general grievances in life. Absolutely fuming and a little bit upset, he said:

“I’m a 53-year-old bloke, who still lives with his dad, can’t do right by his son and is surrounded by my exes. How pathetic!”

“I just have to suck it all up. All the head shaking, all the finger wagging. Because everyone else around here can do and say just what they like.”

53, like. Fair play. Actor Chris Gascoyne, who is actually 50-years-old himself, has clearly been keeping it tight over the years if the reaction of Coronation Street viewers last night was anything to go by. And it is. Here's what they said:

"Peter Barlow is 53?!? Well I never. Still get it #Dilf #Corrie," said one Twitter user. 

“The most shocking thing about @itvcorrie tonight was that #PeterBarlow is 53!!!” mused another. 

"Peter Barlow is looking good for 53. I thought he was in his forties," wrote another person, bigging up the Barlow genes.
