Here is the packed line-up for this week’s episode of The Late Late Show

Stephen Porzio

It’ll be sort of a crossover episode thanks to the presence of another hit talk show host, while an Oscar-nominated actor will also be a guest.

After a break last week, The Late Late Show is back this Friday (15 November) with an utterly packed line-up.

Headlining proceedings is Paul Mescal, who will chat about his giant new blockbuster Gladiator II.

As well as this, he will tell host Patrick Kielty about working with director Ridley Scott, his friendship with Saoirse Ronan (and their much-publicised recent appearance on The Graham Norton Show) and coming home to his family.

Speaking of Graham Norton, the presenter will also be on the programme to talk about the inspiration for his fifth bestselling novel Frankie.

He will also speak about the one chat show guest that got away early in his career and why he decided to get his weekends back by leaving his long-running radio show.

U2 bassist Adam Clayton will be on the Late Late as well to chat about Ballroom Blitz, his documentary about the Irish showband scene of the 60s and 70s.

Other topics of conversation will include the Las Vegas Sphere and U2’s 40-day residency there, as well as sharing exciting news of previously unheard U2 tracks.

Comedian, actor and writer Brendan O’Carroll is home from Florida and will be talking to Kielty about his hit series Mrs. Brown’s Boys, which returns to screens this Christmas.

Plus, he will discuss his live show, The Musical for Moore Street, which tours Ireland in the coming weeks.

Journalist Samantha Barry is also coming home to Ireland and will join Kielty to chat about her new role as Glamour magazine’s first Global Editorial Director, life in New York after the US Presidential elections and dancing with Beyoncé at the recent Glamour Women of the Year Awards.

And in terms of music, Irish folk music band Altan will perform a set of reels to “get viewers hands clicking and toes tapping”.

The Late Late Show is airing on RTÉ One on Friday at 9.35pm.
