Parks and Rec cast to reunite for one-off special in aid of #Covid-19 relief

Everything hurts and I’m dying.

Or at least, I was until the Parks and Rec cast announced that they were reuniting for a one-off charity special in aid of #Covid-19 relief. Then I was okay.

Yep, the original cast of the immensely popular NBC comedy series are coming together to record a whole new episode of Parks and Rec, with a whole new story – all in aid of Feeding America.

Amy Poehler, Chris Pratt Rashida Jones, Nick Offerman, Rob Lowe, Aziz Ansari, Adam Scott, Aubrey Plaza and Jim O’Heir will all feature in the special, which is due to air at the end of the month.

The cast will be returning to Pawnee, Indiana as Leslie Knope tries to get back in contact with all of her colleagues to see how they’ve been getting on – while social distancing, obviously.

“Like a lot of other people, we were looking for ways to help and felt that bringing these characters back for a night could raise some money,” said show creator Mike Schur.

“I sent a hopeful email to the cast and they all got back to me within 45 minutes. Our old Parks and Rec team has put together one more 30-minute slice of (quarantined) Pawnee life and we hope everyone enjoys it. And donates!”

All funds raised will go directly towards Feeding America’s Covid-19 response fund, helping food banks deliver meals to the vulnerable across the States.

The Parks and Rec one-off special will air in the US on April 30.
