Paige Thorne’s family defend her amid claims she’s unkind

“It’s very easy to talk about someone who cannot defend themselves.”

The family of Love Island’s Paige Thorne have released a statement defending her after fellow contestant Coco Lodge claimed that Paige had “an issue” with her.

In a video on Instagram, Coco said: “I think she just had some sort of like issue with me or whatever, where she told Summer she didn’t like my vibe. Obviously I’ve actually just only found this out.”

Coco also alleged that someone said that they looked alike, which upset Paige.

“She just got annoyed about it, I think,” Coco said. “Because she didn’t want to look like me. And then, obviously told Gemma giggling that the boys said I was a 4 out of 10, and she was a 12, which isn’t nice or kind behaviour and then to go tell one of my best friends Summer that she doesn’t like my vibes when I didn’t do anything in there but actually try really hard with her because she was being the least welcoming to all of us.”

She added: “I just didn’t understand her issue with me. Was it because I was another brunette? I don’t know.”

Paige’s family have since issued a statement via her Instagram account which reads: “Please remember there are two sides to every story. It’s very easy to talk about someone who cannot defend themselves. Those who know and love Paige know she’s an amazing person and I for one couldn’t be more proud of her.”

Coco herself has also asked fans not to send Paige hate in her defence.

On her Instagram stories, she said: “I don’t like to see any negativity towards any islander. Paige did not bully me and I haven’t said this once!”

She continued: “This is for me to take up with her directly and I should have never shared my sadness on this situation with you all.

“I do not want to see any hate towards her or any other islander it breaks my heart to see any nasty comments directed towards people who I grew to love especially when they are wrong. No one in that villa is a busy or possessive or fake.”
