One of this year’s Love Island contestants dated Chris Pine and said it was ‘grand’

West End star and future Love Island contestant Samira Mighty is looking for love after things didn’t quite work out with her and Hollywood heartthrob, Chris Pine. The 22-year-old says she met the actor at an event in London a couple of years ago and the pair have kept in touch since, even going on a few dates.

“I went to the GQ Man of the Year after party,” Samira told Digital Spy. “And I thought I recognised this guy. I knew him from the Disney Channel. “I thought, ‘my God, he was in that movie with Lindsay Lohan,’ and he kind of moved to me and I thought, ‘he seems fun, he seems cool’.”

The pair apparently then exchanged numbers with Chris asking to meet her the next day.

“We went to Soho Hotel, where he stays, and it was super nice,” Samira said of their date in the in-depth interview. “It’s literally grand, there’s a restaurant down there, and all his directors were there, which was really strange, but it was great. “But it was really cool.”

The future Love Island star says that she still keeps in touch with Chris and tried to make plans to meet up this summer while he is in the UK, but couldn’t because of her commitments to the reality show. Let's hope her time on Love Island is worth it then.
