One of our favourite things about Mary Poppins won’t be in the remake

How do you feel about this?

While we are so excited about the Mary Poppins remake due out in 2018, our expectations are very high.

The decision to cast Emily Blunt as Poppins was definitely a good choice, but there is a lot more to the film than the actors.

One of the best parts of the original film was the songs and singing so we’re hoping they do that justice.

However, Emily Blunt has revealed that none of the original songs will be featured in this one. That means ‘A Spoon Full of Sugar’,  ‘Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious’ and ‘Chim Chim Che-ree’ among others will not be included.

Speaking on Magic Radio  Emily said:

“Spoonful of Sugar does not exist in our version; it’s all new music! Get over it guys. There’s a new Mary in town.”

She also added that she is glad that she does not have to live up to Julie Andrews talents in that area.

“Hey! No one can out-Julie Julie Andrews, so I’m happy not to do it.” She said.

The film is set 20 years later that the original and see’s Mary return to the Banks family to help them with a family tragedy so we are expecting it to differ from the original, however, we’re hoping the Mary Poppins we know and love is brought back to live in this new version.
