One Love: Dublin station get incredible gift from U2

It’s a sad sad day for music.

TXFM have broadcast for the very last time. The news was announced six months ago in a statement released by the Broadcasting Authority Of Ireland. The station, which had just celebrated its second birthday at the time, was forced to make six full-time staff redundant. The news was (and still is) a real blow to Irish radio, as TXFM had added some much-needed musical diversity to the airwaves over the past two years. All day people (including us) have been reflecting on the station and the joy it brought.

U2 took an opportunity to share their sadness, gifting TXFM with an audio recording. At the time, the BAI had said there were two declarations of interest for the license.
