One of the EastEnders characters is leaving the show

It's going to be dramatic apparently.

Steven Beale, who is played by Aaron Sidwell, is going to be leaving EastEnders. Rumours began about an imminent departure within the cast after there was a leaving party recently. And now, it's been revealed that Aaron Sidwell is leaving and his departure is going to play before the end of the summer. According to Digital Spy, a spokesperson for the show has said:

"Aaron Sidwell is part of one of the big upcoming storylines and we can confirm, following dramatic scenes to be aired later this summer, he will be leaving the show. We wish Aaron all the very best for the future."

Steven's storyline has seen him caught between sister's Lauren and Abi Branning, while also lying about suffering from an incurable brain tumour. He reportedly wants to get back into stage acting having previously taken a break from the show to star in musicals.
