Prisoners is a 2013 film starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Hugh Jackman, Viola Davis, Maria Bello, Paul Dano, and a load of other class people who are really great at acting and definitely worth watching in a movie on Sunday night.
The film follows detective Loki (Gyllenhaal) as he tries to figure out the whereabouts of two young girl who have recently gone missing.
One of the fathers of one of the girls, Keller (Jackman), becomes fairly involved in the search himself, desperately trying to find out where his daughter is.
Police arrest somebody on suspicion of the kidnapping, eventually releasing him, but this doesn't stop Keller from taking the law into his own hands, kidnapping the suspect himself and interrogating him.
What follows is a lot of hard-to-watch scenes of violent desperation, a stunning performance from Gyllenhaal, and an ending that'll blow the head off your shoulders and pretty much make you want to watch the entire film again from start to finish.
Prisoners was nominated for best cinematography at the Oscars in 2014 and Gyllenhaal was praised virtually unanimously by critics for his performance.
All in all, it's a pretty great film and if you haven't seen it yet, you've no excuse not to stick it on this evening.
