There’s a new website that makes searching for a film on Netflix SO much easier

Jade Hayden

Praise the Lord.

How many times over the past few years have you struggled to find a film on Netflix?

A lot, probably.

The streaming service’s algorithms mean that you’re going to see a lot more of things that you’re likely to watch and a lot less of things you may not have been interested before.

Oh, and they’ll always bang out the Netflix Originals to your homepage too.

You’ll notice though if you use a friend’s Netflix, or even click onto another profile on your own account, that Netflix appears to suggest different things for that person.

You might even notice movies and TV shows that you had no idea were available on the streaming service because they had never been suggested to you.

It’s a tough thing to accept that there’s potentially hundreds of content out there that we’re missing because Netflix makes it notoriously difficult for us to search for anything.

Lucky for us then that we don’t need to accept that anymore because one lad has only gone a created a website that allows you to actually search for things on Netflix via their release date, genre, and the date they were added.

Incredible.

Flixable’ is the creation of Finnish programmer Ville Salminen, who decided one day that he was sick of not being able to search for stuff on Netflix unless he had the exact name of whatever he was looking for.

Because sometimes, you just want to exclusively watch comedies released in 1997, you know?

Flixable can be accessed from desktops, tablets, and phones, and contains content from the US and the UK and Ireland

Similar to the Netflix app itself, you can also search by what’s popular, what’s a Netflix Original, and what’s available in other countries.

Your viewing life will never be the same again.
