Hollywood loves a reboot and this classic chick-flick is next on its list.
A new Mean Girls movie is in the works and we don’t know how to feel about it. The musical version of the 2004 flick is being released next year.
Announcing the news on Mean Girls Day, Paramount+ confirmed the film will now be released in theatres next January.
Movie-goers can look forward to catching the musical version of the film in cinemas on January 12th, 2024.
We’re feeling slightly hesitant about this film- if it’s not broken why fix it? But there’s quite a stellar cast attached to the movie.
The project stars Angourie Rice, Reneé Rapp, Auli’i Cravalho, Jaquel Spivey, Tina Fey, Tim Meadows and, Jenna Fischer.
Busy Philipps, Avantika, Mahi Alam, Connor Ratliff and Jon Hamm also star.

The Summer I Turned Pretty’s Christopher Briney is also set to appear in the film.
Emily in Paris actress Ashley Park has also been cast in Mean Girls.
Not only does it have an incredible cast, but the film is also written by Tina Fey, so it’s bound to be good, right? She penned the script for the original film so our hopes are high.
It is also directed by Arturo Perez and Samantha Jayne.
Mean Girls will be released in cinemas on January 12th, 2024, but we’re keeping our eyes peeled on an Irish release date.
