It seems that a big hint about what the Mother of Dragons will do next may have been revealed by a new location being used for filming season seven, according to Watchers on the Wall.
Sources on the show say Daenerys is filming scenes in a location in Spain which is expected to be the infamous ancient Dragon Pit ruins from the books.
That's the Dragon Pit which in George RR Martin's A Game of Thrones stands ruined on a hillside in King's Landing.
While this isn't earth-shattering stuff on its own, MoviePilot reckon it could be a hugely significant location for a number of reasons.
And while the Dragon Pit has yet to appear in the TV show, it features repeatedly and prominently in the books and could have a significant part to play in the future of Westeros.
First of all there are only seven episodes planned for Season Seven - and Daenerys is clearly at the fore. He story arc looks like it will be accelerating quickly with seven episodes, as she really doesn't have time to fuck about.
This would suggest that Daenery's fleet is heading straight for King's Landing and will land sooner than expected.
This means that Cersei's nascent grip on power will be tested instantaneously after the evil queen blew up half of King's Landing to claim her place on the Iron Throne.
The fact that the Dragon Pit features may be significant for two reasons. Historically it was where Targaryen dragons were kept during the height of power of House Targaryen, being built by Maegor the Cruel.
It looks like either Dany wins her fight for power against Cersei and looks to the great dome on Rhaenys's hill as a place to keep her dragons Drogon, Viserion and Rhaegal in victory.
OR...
She may well be defeated and someone takes control of her dragons and locks them away in the Dragon Pit. One theory about the reason for the Dragon Pit scenes is that new King of the Iron Island Euron Greyjoy could capture her dragons.
We know Euron has designs on Dany and certainly wants power. MoviePlot points to a detail in the book which could by crucial to how things play out where Euron gets his hands on a 'dragonblinder'.
This is a mythical horn which has the power to control dragons, and according to the book, sounds like 'the screaming of a thousand souls' and leaves those who hear it 'as if their very bones are aflame and searing their flesh from within'.
Speculation is rife that the ancient Italica Roman ruins at Santiponce in Seville being the site where the Dragon Pit scenes will be filmed.
