Netflix has announced that it will be removing the hidden gem comedy series Loudermilk at the end of the month.
The show is directed by the duo Bobby Farrelly and Peter Farrelly (who made Dumb and Dumber and There's Something About Mary), with Peter Farrelly also having co-created it alongside Bobby Mort (The Colbert Report).
It stars Ron Livingston (Office Space, Swingers) as Sam Loudermilk, a recovering alcoholic and substance abuse counsellor with an extremely bad attitude.
The plot synopsis for the series reads:
Originally premiering Stateside on the now-defunct Audience Network, Loudermilk ran for three seasons between 2017 and 2020.
The series earned very positive reviews from critics, with its first season scoring 93% on Rotten Tomatoes.
Here is a sample of some of the praise the show's first season received:
The Hollywood Reporter: "Credit Mort and Farrelly with slowly building out an eclectic little comedy that really grows on you."
Los Angeles Times: "Though it feels contrived at times, or willfully outrageous - this is Peter Farrelly of the Farrelly Brothers, remember - it can also be authentically charming."
San Francisco Chronicle: "Loudermilk stands out for several reasons, first among them, the show's beautifully realised scripts, followed closely behind by fascinating performances."
Washington Post: "Symbolically picks up where Gen-X totems like Singles and Reality Bites left off decades ago."
Loudermilk's three seasons were added to Netflix in Ireland and the UK in January 2024.
However, when you search for the sitcom on the streaming giant now, a message reads: "Last day to watch on Netflix: 30 June."
Loudermilk's episodes are usually just under 30 minutes long. So if you start watching soon, you may be able to binge the whole series before it leaves the service.

"Sam Loudermilk, a former music critic and a recovering alcoholic, is a substance abuse counsellor and support group leader living in Seattle who regularly doles out clever but acid-tongued critiques to his clients, his friends, and any random person he interacts with.
"Loudermilk, who does not have his life together in the way one might expect of a counsellor, is somewhat nicer to the few people close to him, including his best friend and usually sober sponsor, Ben Burns (Will Sasso), and his sponsee and unplanned roommate, the young Claire Wilkes (Anja Savcic)."
