Netflix has announced a worldwide casting call for a new original movie

Fancy being the next Netflix star?

Well, this could be your chance. Netflix has announced today that they are searching for the next lead girl for an original movie - Tall Girl. The movie centres around a high school student who is six-foot tall and has to battle the everyday 'How's the weather up there?!' comments. Producers of the movie have opened a worldwide casting call for the female lead. Auditions are open to girls who are 5’10” or taller and between the ages of 13 and 21 years old. Director Nzingha Stewart said of the movie:

“Tall Girl is about all the places where we feel awkward or tender, and learning not only to accept those places, but to shower them with unconditional and radical love.

While Melissa Cobb, vice president of kids and family at Netflix added:

“At Netflix we are committed to being a platform where tweens can find movies that inspire and empower them. One of the many reasons we’re excited to make Tall Girl is the refreshing way it speaks to this audience with humour and heart about embracing what makes them different and special using height as a framing device."

Irish girls who want to audition can visit www.tallgirlcasting.com and submit between November 5, 2018 and November 21, 2018. Tall Girl will begin shooting in January of 2019.
