Netflix is releasing a must-watch rom-com this summer
You can’t beat a good rom-com, and Netflix has perfected the genre in recent years.
The streaming service has released some of our favourite rom-coms in recent years. However, its upcoming release may be our favourite yet.
My Oxford Year is hitting the streaming service in August, and we cannot wait to watch it.
The movie follows an ambitious American student who travels to Oxford in the UK to fulfill her dream, but encounters a charming local who changes both their lives.
Starring The Life List actress Sofia Carson and Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story actor Cory Mylchreest, My Oxford Year looks like it will be an instant hit.
The film is close to home for British actor Cory Mylchreest. He told Tudum:
“I have a friend that studied for uni in Oxford, so there was a period of my life where I was going up and getting the train to Oxford quite frequently.
“I chose not to visit all the locations where we would be filming because I wanted to save my honest reaction to witnessing the magic of Oxford for the first time, for once the cameras were rolling.”
The movie will be directed by BAFTA nominee Iain Morris.
Morris hopes the film will shine a light on what it’s really like to fall in love.
“I hope watching the film allows the audience to run through all the emotions associated with the wonderful, noisy, chaotic, unexpected, funny, heartbreaking experience that is falling in love.”
My Oxford Year airs on Netflix on August 1st.
