We were just going about our daily business, had lunch, watched a couple of videos and then BAM, everything in the universe suddenly isn’t the same anymore.
Yes, that’s right people, Jay Z has apparently dropped the hyphen from his name. From now on, he will be known as Jay Z and not Jay-Z. We know, how can you continue with life?
According to the Metro, Billboard editor Joe Levy tweeted that he had been contacted by Jay’s label and advised that Jay Z (that was a close one) had dropped the hyphen from his name.

Massive hyphen.
Now, this obviously came as quite a shock to all of his fans who are now having a major rapper identity crisis, particularly since Jay has been using “JAY Z” without the hyphen evidently for quite a while (even on his facebook page).
With the new release of Magna Carta, this was obviously an important time for Jay Z (phew, got it) to make sure everyone is spelling his name right.
This is like that Prince fiasco all over again. We’ll never cope.
