Soulé discusses dealing with setbacks and forging a career in the Irish music scene

She's going from strength to strength.

She might only be 24-years-old but Irish singer and songwriter, Soulé is set for stardom. Her unique sound featuring R&B vocals, and catchy lyrics have caused her tracks to climb the Irish charts at a rapid pace and she's only just getting started. Admitting that she's always loved performing, Soulé who is known by close friends as Samantha Kay always hoped of one day becoming a performer however, didn't know "if it would ever happen". But Soulé kept driving herself, creating music and then began to gain attraction. Her single "Love No More" is one that the star recalls as a turning point, referring to the love for her music as being "crazy" and "surreal" to grasp. And now, most people will recognise Soulé for her chart-topping hit "Love Tonight" featuring C Cane. The track that we call the "Love Island dance break". Soulé's song now features on the TV advert for Vavavoom, seen during the Love Island adverts.

"It was a pinch me moment, I was like, woah. I wrote this song in November 2017 and now two years later it's on a Love Island ad break!"

Revealing that all these things take time and patience before you see rewards, Soulé isn't a stranger to setbacks too in such a challenging industry and notes that fixating on the negatives only makes things worse.

"I pick myself up and keep going. There's no point in sitting and dwelling, you'll only hurt yourself. If something doesn't go the way I planned, I take it as a lesson learned and the opportunity to try to approach it in a different way."

Keeping herself busy, the star is playing at Tayto's 65th birthday party in Copper Face Jacks alongside Chasing Abbey and Walking On Cars this Friday, June 14.
