Sabrina Carpenter announces she is releasing new music this week

The 'Espresso' songstress has been somewhat quiet in recent months, after the European leg of her Short 'n' Sweet tour wrapped earlier this year.

However, it seems the star is back with a new track.

Taking to Instagram, she wrote: "This one’s about you!!"

Called 'Manchild', the track is due to release on Thursday at 8pm US Eastern Time.

A special 7" vinyl is being released to mark its release.

Fans took to the comments section to react to the news of the new drop.

One person wrote: "The queen of the summer is back!!"

A second penned: "And just when we needed her most, she returned."
