If you have watched the video in recent years you'll be among the thousands (okay maybe not thousands) who asked why and how in the name of god Kelly Rowland was using an Excel Spreadsheet to text Nelly. When asked why the hell it happened, Nelly said:

"That was the thing at the time. That was the new technology at the time."

He added: "It looks a little dated now, I can see that."

No Nelly, it's not dated, Excel is still used in business circumstances, just like it was back in 2002. It was not 'the new technology at the time' for communicating and has never been that way.
