Hit Irish singer Hozier has nabbed the top spot ahead of U2 in this week’s album charts.
Hozier took the United States by storm last week when he shot to number two in the US charts after appearing on Saturday Night Live.
The Wicklow singer’s career has been going from strength-to-strength in recent weeks, and now his album has held firm this week to stay ahead of U2 and maintain the Number One spot in Ireland.
Hozier’s album has been nestling at the top of the charts for the last few weeks and this week the Take Me to Church singer has remained in poll position, with U2 having to settle for second best. This is reported to be the first time that a U2 album has not debuted at number one in a number of years.
Meanwhile Ed Sheeran is still in the top five with his album X, sitting at number three in the Irish charts.
