The following items are banned from Coldplay’s gig at Croker this weekend

Leave those tridents at home, folks.

Increased security protocols have been a feature at major concerts in Ireland this summer and Coldplay at Croke Park on Saturday will be no different. Tens of thousands of people will pack into GAA HQ for easily one of the most anticipated gigs of the year this weekend, so to save you any hassle if you are attending, have a quick browse through the items at the bottom of the page that concert goers will not be allowed to bring into the stadium on Saturday. Anyone who’s been to the likes of Slane, Robbie Williams and Arcade Fire in recent weeks will be familiar with the increased security protocols, but for those who might not be, the list includes everything from backpacks, bottles and cans to iPads, smoke canisters and tridents.

Patrons are advised not to bring backpacks or large handbags and are advised that any bags allowed entry to the stadium will be security tagged for the duration of the event. There will be no cloakroom or storage facilities on site. Bags must not be left at entrances or surrounding areas; any items left will be removed and disposed of accordingly. The list of banned items is part of a detailed transport, traffic and crowd management plan issued by An Garda Síochána ahead of the Coldplay concert, which can be read in full here.

• Cameras with detachable lens or recording equipment
• Camping equipment
• Chinese or sky lanterns
• Cooler Boxes or Large containers
• Crash helmets or protective headwear, body armour or protective clothing
• Deckchairs
• Drumsticks
• Excessive amounts of batteries, wire, cables or electrical components
• Fireworks or flares
• Flagpoles
• Garden furniture, fold up chairs or shooting sticks
• Glass
• Glow sticks
• GoPros
• Illegal substances/ illegal merchandise of any description
• iPads
• Large umbrellas
• Large chains, spiked bracelets or wallet chains
• Large Flags, Placards or Posters inc. sticks
• Light sabers
• Lasers / Laser pens or torches
• LED Headbands, wristbands, Glow sticks or Light emitting objects of any kind (except mobile/cell phones)
• Liquids - No liquids are permitted other than sealed water less than 500ml is allowed (Caps will be removed)
