As planning for next year's gigs gets underway, many may be concerned that Croke Park's limit on live events may throw a spanner in the works, particularly given the recent speculation that the king of country music, Garth Brooks, has his heart set on five nights in Croke Park.
However, it seems Garth's ambitions will not impact potential Springsteen gigs, and vice versa. According to The Examiner, the planning year for live events kicks off after April, which is when Bruce's gigs are rumoured to take place. Brooks and Aiken promotions have proposed three gigs, and a fresh outdoor application will have to be made for the two additional dates.
When asked about Brooks' five nights ambition, a Dublin City Council spokesperson said: "The outdoor event licence application for April is a stand-alone application and is still under consideration by the council.
