Beyoncé made history at Coachella last night – and she didn’t do it alone

"Coachella is over, it's Beychella now."

The hype that has surrounded Beyoncé's eagerly anticipated Coachella performance has been growing ever since she was announced as a headliner for the festival in 2017. Yes, tickets quickly sold out as music lovers across the globe paid huge money to see Beyoncé make history as the first black woman to headline at Coachella. However, just a few months later, Bey shut down the internet with the announcement that she was expecting twins and would, unfortunately, have to cancel her appearance at the festival. Earlier this year, Coachella announced that Queen Bey would finally be making it to the festival stage this year, and last night she made history. Yes, when Beyoncé performs you know it's going to get a reaction, however, the overwhelming response to her time on the main stage at Coachella last night proves just how much of an icon she is. And she wasn't alone either. Earlier this year, many close to the singer dismissed rumours that Bey would use her set to reunite with her former Destiny's Child bandmates, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams, as she did at the 2013 Super Bowl performance, saying that it wasn't in the plan. Well, it looks like Bey's plans changed as she brought the two ladies on stage for a very special reunion and it was everything we could have dreamed of and more.

Kelly and Michelle weren't the only special guests on the night either. Hubby Jay Z was there to perform alongside his wife and Beyoncé's sister Solange came on stage to dance with her sister, as Bey did back in 2014. Beyoncé's performance was so incredible the hashtag #Beychella quickly began trending on Twitter, with fans calling for the festival to change its name in honour of the singer's epic performance.
