Mrs. Brown to host her own chat show on the BBC this year

Few TV shows divide opinion like Brendan O’Carroll’s Mrs. Brown’s Boys. Some absolutely love it and others positively loathe it but what is certainly not in doubt is that it brings in the viewers on a consistent basis. It was the most-watched programme on RTÉ over Christmas with an average of 607,500 viewers and a 37% share on Christmas Day, while 11 million (that’s right, 11 MILLION) people in the UK tuned in to watch a special live edition of the show last July. Recognising its popularity, the BBC have decided to give Mrs. Brown her own chat show, All Round to Mrs. Brown, which will go out on the BBC later in the year. According to the BBC, “Agnes is about to open the door of her very familiar family home, as mammy makes mischief with celebrity guests, surprise audience shenanigans and outrageous stunts, all in front of a live studio audience… what could possibly go wrong?!” Commissioned by the BBC, the show will be produced by Hungry Bear Media in conjunction with Brendan O’Carroll’s production company BocPix. Commenting on the show’s announcement, O’Carroll said: "The entire cast is excited by this.

“I think Agnes may be worried that she'll need a bigger kettle to make tea for everyone that's coming round!" "I have been waiting some time to work with Dan Baldwin and Hungry Bear,” O’Carroll added. “It is so exciting now to team up for this. Similarly one of the things that everyone at BocPix enjoys about working with the BBC is that we are always given the encouragement to explore new ideas - like we did with the live episode of Mrs. Browns Boys in July.”
