A television channel in Morocco has come under fire from viewers as they aired a tutorial on covering bruises from domestic violence.
Moroccan national TV channel 2m aired the applying of makeup by an artist onto a woman with a heavily bruised face.
According to METRO, the hosts were quoted as normalising the horrors of domestic violence in the home
“We hope these beauty tips will help you carry on with your daily life.”
The hosts also came under fire for advising women to do their utmost to hide their bruises, recommending certain makeup products to keep them concealed.
“Make sure to use loose powder to fix the makeup so if you have to work throughout the day, the bruises don’t show.”
Moroccan journalist Samia Erazzouki pointed out the ridiculous nature of normalising domestic violence, rather than condemning it and advising women to speak out.
