It’s set to be one of the biggest soap storylines of the year and new details about Coronation Street’s planned teen pregnancy have been released.
According to The Express, tomorrow night’s double bill will see 12-year-old Faye Windass encouraged by her friend to take a pregnancy test after worrying about her weight gain.
The shocked teen discovers that she is expecting a baby and is seven months gone, but decides to keep the news from her family until the birth.
Debbie Rush, who plays Faye’s mother Anna, had said the storyline has been “a huge challenge” for the cast but praised 13-year-old actress Ellie Leach for her mature approach to the storyline.
“Ellie is a little star – she has really risen to the challenge of this storyline and I couldn’t be prouder of her. She always has a big smile on her face and is a pleasure to work with. She is nothing like Faye, not at all sullen and moody, we are very close and both looking forward to all the great scenes to come when Anna finds out,” she said.
“It will be a huge challenge as we have known about this story for so long now but obviously nothing has been mentioned on screen so we are ready to start playing it all out now. It will be interesting to see how Faye and Anna cope with it all.”
