Modern Family fans will want to soak up as much of the show as possible, as it turns out it might not be continuing for much longer. The show is currently in its ninth season and still as funny as ever, and that's the crux of the issue. The show creators want to quit while they're ahead, essentially, and say they will only do one more season. It's like Friends all over again.

Steve Levitan and Christopher Lloyd, the showrunners, told The Hollywood Reporter:

"Our plan is to end it at 10 (seasons). If we can leave with most of our audience wanting more, I think that's the right way to do it. Never say never, but I just can't imagine that we'd go past that."

However, they haven't ruled out a spin-off series, focusing on some or one of the main characters. They're having "substantive conversations about" the possibility of doing one but it's a long way off by the looks of it. Right now, though, they're planning the perfect finish to the series, but have hinted that it could include a birth, death or marriage.
