There are many reasons Meghan Markle might not want to act any more.
It could be the fact that she now lives in the UK, a world away from her old Hollywood bubble; or the fact that she no longer has to.
It could even be that she’d rather dedicate herself to her charity work.
But the reason probably isn’t because she has a husband.
Meghan starred as Rachel Zane in legal drama Suits for six years but officially announced her retirement from acting after she and Prince Harry became engaged back in 2017.
Now Kevin Costner, of all people, has said that it’s best she’s no longer acting as she’s married.
“It’d be hard. If you’re Harry, he seems like a great guy. It’s like, that’s why I’m not married to an actress,” the actor told Lorraine this morning.
“I don’t want to see my wife kissing somebody. I’m like on Harry’s side.”
Continuing, he said “I don’t want to be a person that’s ever limiting somebody, but there’s so much thought that goes into taking on, number one being a wife, and then being in this circle that I don’t even understand – royalty – it’s a unique spot.
“I think we watch it from across an ocean and sometimes we don’t understand exactly what’s going on.
“She’s had enough attention for a lifetime now in a year.”
OK then.
Meanwhile, Meghan’s half sister has been suspended from Twitter.
Samantha Markle has been an outspoken critic of the Duchess and while it’s not clear what exactly she said or did to warrant getting barred, we’re sure Meghan is glad of the break from her tweets.
