Here at Her.ie we are MASSIVE fans of the Channel 4 series First Dates, so when we heard there was going to be an Irish version we were just DELIGHTED.
We are also very attached to the maître d’ of the UK version, Fred Sirieix, so we were very excited to see who we got to fill his shoes on our shores.
Well, meet Mateo Saina. He’s originally from Croatia and moved to Dublin in 2005 after spending time in Austria and Italy, and he is currently maître d’ at Dylan McGrath’s newest restaurant, Taste.
Mateo will be our Cupid, welcoming singles into the restaurant as romances (hopefully) blossoms.
I am so excited to be involved with First Dates Ireland. From my experience, I can tell whether people on a date are confident or not, whether they are nervous, and my job is to help them feel relaxed. Everyone that walks into this restaurant deserves a chance to find love, that’s what First Dates is all about. It’s a great feeling to see two people making a connection and if I can help make this happen, then that’s my job done.”
The show will broadcast later this Spring and we are BUZZING.
