Matilda Actress Mara Wilson Just Turned 28 – Here’s What She’s Up To Now

It has been nearly TWENTY years since Matilda poured a bowl of cornflakes using the power of her mind...  And if that's not enough to make you feel ancient, the actress Mara Wilson, who brought the child genius to life, turned 28 this weekend. The movie which was based on Roald Dahl's classic book of the same name, was an instant hit when it was first released in 1996. Mara, who also starred in Mrs. Doubtfire and Miracle on 34th Street, enjoyed a hugely prolific acting career in her youth but has since turned her back on showbiz to focus on writing. "Yes, I love working in theater and have always loved voice-over, but pursuing a full-time live-action film career does not appeal to me." "…Does this really bother you? "I probably won’t ever get rid of the bangs, because I have what gossip columnists have a “five-head”. "One reason I like not being an actress anymore is that I’m not, and never have been, very glamorous or stylish."
