Luke Skywalker is front and centre in new Star Wars: The Last Jedi clip

"This is not going to go the way you think."

“This is not going to go the way you think.”

That’s according to Luke Skywalker in the new trailer for The Last Jedi, at least.

The footage hit screens on Wednesday night during Game 7 of the MLB World Series.

While the 45 second teaser recycles a lot of old footage from former trailers, it does include some newer bits.

Like, say, the shot of Luke Skywalker on the Millennium Falcon for the first time in years.

Anyone else get chills?

There’s not long left to go until The Last Jedi finally arrives.

The latest instalment in the franchise will hit cinemas in Ireland on December 14, a day before its release in the USA.

It comes as Lucasfilm boss Kathleen Kennedy confirmed that there are currently at least 10 years of Star Wars stories to work on.

She told The Star Wars Show:

“We’re sitting down now, we’re talking about the next 10 years of Star Wars stories and we’re looking at narratively where that might go.

“Future stories beyond Episode IX, with these new characters, Rey, Poe, Finn, BB-8.

“But we’re also looking at working with people that are interested in coming into the Star Wars world and taking us to places that we haven’t been yet, and that’s exciting too because it’s a vast galaxy far, far away.

“The possibilities are endless!”
