Tyson Fury has revealed the reason why he didn’t visit his brother, Tommy, in the Love Island villa.
Many fans had been hoping the professional boxer would join his mother and brother, Shane, to fly out to Mallorca for the meet-the-family episode.
There had been reports at the time that he turned down a cameo on Love Island as he felt it didn’t fit with his image.
However, the 30-year-old has now clarified that he would have “loved” to have been on the show – except he was attending a training camp.
According to The Sun, he revealed the news during a recent Instagram Q&A session.
“Why didn’t you visit Tommy in Love Island? That’s your brother,” one fan asked him.
The boxer replied:
“I would of loved to but I am in training camp.
“People do not realise the sacrifices made to reach the top level… not just in boxing but anything you aspire to do.”
It comes as Molly-Mae and Tommy responded to the rumours they had split following their time on Love Island.
Earlier this week, the pair – who were the only official couple in the villa – became the runners up of Love Island 2019.
Since then, all of the contestants have landed back in the UK, had a bit of a homecoming, and enjoyed spending some quality time alone together.
This has been documented on each of their Instagram Stories over the past few days – each of them, that is, except for Tommy and Molly-Mae.
The pair have made the odd appearance on the other islanders’ Grams, but not on their own, which had led people to assume that there must be a reason behind their silence.
Essentially, that they’ve split up and that’s the rational behind their decision not to post anything, allegedly.
Apparently, the above is not actually the case though. That’s according to a spokesperson for the couple anyway, who told Mail Online that the pair are still together.
“Tommy and Molly are very much together and so excited for what’s to come,” they said.
“They absolutely have not split. They currently have a very hectic schedule and are just adjusting to a routine.”
