Love Island’s Maura Higgins has landed herself a TV presenting job

Paul Moore

Delighted for her.

Aside from introducing Curtis to her family and preparing for the reunion show on Sunday night, we imagine that Maura Higgins has been spending quite a lot of time at the chiropractor since Love Island ended.

After all, the lady from Longford has spent the last few weeks singlehandedly carrying the entire season of Love Island on her back.

Dubbed ‘Hurricane Maura’ by her fellow islanders, Higgins was a wonderful addition to the show because her unfiltered and ‘no bullshit’ approach made her a hit with viewers and those in the villa.

Truth be told, the scene when she destroyed Tom after he put his foot in it was one of 2019’s best TV moments.

Well, prepare to get a flutter because The Mirror have reported that the Love Island star is set to become a guest presenter on the ITV daytime show This Morning.

It appears that Maura will become the show’s resident agony aunt because she’ll be fronting a segment called Maura Than Meets The Eye, in which she takes on a series of challenges around the country.

Higgins confirmed the role, saying that: “I’m getting flutters about joining This Morning. I can’t believe it. It’s beyond my wildest dreams. I’ve grown up watching Phillip, Holly, Eamonn, Ruth and the team. Mad to think I’m now part of that iconic family. Can’t wait to crack on.”

This Morning editor Martin Frizell said: “Maura was the standout star of this year’s villa antics with her straight-talking opinionated views.”

Higgins is expected to appear on This Morning on Monday, 5 August for a chat with Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes where she’ll confirm the news.

As for Maura’s immediate future, the Love Island contestants will be back on your screens on Sunday for Love Island: The Reunion.

The show airs on Virgin Media Two and ITV2 on Sunday at 9:00pm.
